Teacher of Science
PK Education are working closely with a Chesterfield Secondary School to appoint a Teacher of Science for a long-term supply teaching post. This position is due to start on Monday 2nd September 2019 and it will continue until October Half Term. The post has the potential to be extended until Christmas, or even be made permanent for the right teacher. This Teacher of Science post is a full-time position, so you will need to be available five days a week.
As a Teacher of Science, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated and high-quality Science lessons to pupils of all abilities. You will be teaching a combination of All Sciences across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, so no particular Science Specialism is required. As this is a long-term role, you will be required to plan lessons in line with the school's schemes of work, develop resources, mark the work of students and assess their progress.
The school itself is a large academy in the Chesterfield area, easily commutable from Chesterfield, Sheffield or Mansfield. The school has recently become part of a Multi-Academy Trust and prides itself in the fact that they put students at the centre of everything they do. The school boasts good facilities, housed in a modern and new building. The Science Department in particular are a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward-thinking team, so you will be well supported in your role.
