IT Application Lifecycle Support ManagerJob DescriptionRole Overview:The IT Application Lifecycle Support Manager is responsible for defining, developing, implementing and operating processes to ensure that application platforms are maintained, have roadmap / lifecycle plans which are coherent with IT / technology strategy and operationally viable (e.g. resource / funding support).The role is responsible for collaborating with IT vertical operating units for the prioritization, analysis, execution, and support of existing production technology solutions for S&N stakeholders. The role will also partner with IT department leadership and internal stakeholders to identify, capture and report on performance metrics and drive opportunities for service improvement.Critically, the role will be responsible for ensuring that the Systems Retirement programme achieves its objectives forming the bridge between project team and IT verticals to ensure lifecycle activities are completed and go forward plans integrated into day-to-day operations.Additional core activities will be the definition and governance of processes and engagement between the S&N build/run teams and 3rd party Application Development and Maintenance providers.Further duties include providing program and project status updates, overseeing operational and workflow changes, and developing lifecycle management technology processes and vendor management & analysis.Track and provide regular reporting on key business metrics within S&N, including a lifecycle management process. Direct SME’s and vendors to document business and technical processes and improve operational efficiency. Partner with development teams to implement new technologies, resolve issues, and maintain minimal system disruption.SFIA 7 capability alignment: Category 'Delivery and operation', subcategory 'Service operation', including:1. System software (SYSP) / Level 5 : Evaluates software for update, plan installation and testing, CAPA and problem management, stewardship of operational documentation.2. Application Support (ASUP) / Level 5 : Support / troubleshooting, identify root causes, subject matter expert in operational training development and standard operating procedures, RCA and CI.Further detailed responsibilities include:RequirementsEducation: Minimum to Bachelor’s degree level in an Operations/IT discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.A proven work history in an IT operational capacity including business analysis, metrics gathering, and managing vendors/strategic partners; multiple years of experience within team management and interaction with all levels of organisational stakeholders. Must be analytical and process-oriented and able to apply structure to complex situations. Experience in Information Technology/Post Production environments with a variety of software disciplines.Ability to lead and present program information in face-to-face presentations to varied audiences; including executive management. Previous experience in an Agile environment; knowledge of SCRUM framework a plus.
