My client is a successful SME organisation based in the Livingston area. They have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their small finance team, reporting into the Finance Manager. Responsibilities will include: Monthly and annual accounts P&L analysis Balance sheet reconciliations Managing sales and purchase ledger Production of high quality client reports using database extracts and Excel Reporting and management of exceptions on income and costs Cash flow management including weekly receipts and payment lists VAT returns To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following background and skills: CIMA or ACCA part qualified or intentions to start your professional qualifications however qualified by experience will also be considered Experience of working within a SME company in a varied, hands on role Candidates with experience of working within industry or practice will be considered Able to lead by example within the finance team, supporting the Finance Manager and deputising in their absence Excellent communication skills, able to deal with finance, operational staff and senior management Confident IT skills which should include advanced MS Excel and ideally Xero, Clearbooks or Sage
