We are seeking a experienced Business Development manager who has specific background in Learning Disabilities and or Older persons care, to work for our client covering all of their services in the South West region and Wales.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be required to build and maintain strong relationships with Local Authorities, Clinical Commissioning Groups and other commissioners of Specialist Residential, Supported Living and Older People services. The candidate will have strong key account management skills and will work to maintain existing relationships and initiate new relationships to promote services to the market. In addition, the BDM will work with commissioners to understand market requirements to allow appropriate development of existing services and provide guidance on the need for new services. The BDM, working closely with Operations, is responsible for occupancy of the services within their region and for driving growth.

The successful candidate will hold the following experience and skills:

A Graduate or equivalent with a proven track record of new business development, ideally within the social care sector.

Proven self-starter with excellent track record in delivering against sales targets.
Strong analytical skills, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including report writing and presentation capabilities.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

The candidate must reside within the Sales Region.

A sound knowledge of social health care and services.

Experience gained within a relevant position requiring business acumen and highly developed associated skills.

Knowledge of commissioning systems

Understanding the importance of provider/commissioner relationships in the delivery of high quality care to the people who use our clients services.

Ability to relate at a senior level to all elements of the customer base as well as internal senior representatives.

Able to articulate clearly and succinctly in high pressure and challenging situations.
