Ecommerce/Online Trading Manager
My client a market leading brand is looking for an Ecommerce Trading Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Ecommerce Trading Manager’s role is to focus on the customer and create a great experience at every touch point. You will be primarily responsible for driving online growth within the UK and internationally.
Working as part of the Ecommerce team and alongside the commercial team to manage the day-to-day trading of the UK and international websites, whilst also being accountable for developing and executing a long-term commercial strategy to maximise online sales and profitability.
Role & Responsibilities;
- Report and monitor sales, key metrics and promotions in weekly trade meetings and daily and weekly reporting.Work closely with the Head of Digital Marketing and Trading on the long-term trading strategy.Manage the planning and reporting of all key web promotional activity, and lead the ecommerce merchandising team in the delivery and execution.Actively provide the Warehouse team with order and unit forecasts to ensure the correct allocation of resource during promotional periods.Work with the Merchandising team to drive stock efficiency across all channels by monitoring the ecommerce stock holding and availability.Together with the Buying and Merchandising teams create online opportunities and tailor promotional and pricing activity drawing upon trading and sales analysis.Analyse trading patterns and understand the sales curve, reporting findings and identifying opportunities to further maximize online sales and profitability.Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to ensure that the product/range/trading strategies are supported by the digital marketing strategy for all trafficked channels - including SEO, PPC, Affiliates, retargeting and social advertising.Work with the Content team to optimise the website customer experience/ journey, feeding into decisions on content and layout across the site (e.g. homepage, navigation, PDP)
Skills and experience needed;
- Experience in Ecommerce based trading role is essential.Have an entrepreneurial spirit and crave a high-growth, fast-paced environmentHighly self-directed and process/results-oriented individual.Strong understanding of P&L structure, especially sales, discount and margin.Experienced in using analytics tools to understand customer behaviour.Sound understanding of how to present the most important aspects of a product/brand to customers to support the purchase decision.Ability to lead, coach, motivate and develop a team ensuring that performance is regularly reviewed, and that succession and development is supported.Analytical and numerical with strong reporting skills.Communication & influencing acumen.Strong attention to detail.Highly organised to ensure the smooth running of all daily operations.Ability to think commercially.
