Senior Product Manager
There is a key player in the technology service provision sector in Manchester who we partner closely with for their recruitment needs. They're growing and growing and they need someone, maybe you, to join them at the top of their Product team.
Our client's aim is to be the go-to organisation for businesses who need faster, more secure lines of communication - a list of businesses that currently includes some of the biggest household names in the retail, FMCG and ecommerce sectors.
Can you tell me more about what they'll want me to do?
Well, first of all, they need their Product Management methodology further embedded within the wider business and this will fall to you - I hope you like responsibility, because you'll get plenty of it here.
You'll liaise with multiple areas of the business, flitting effortlessly between Sales, Marketing, HR, Legal, Finance, and Commercial teams so that you can get an idea of what the business and their customers want - I hope you like building relationships and meeting new people too!
You'll use what you've learnt from your various sit-downs, stand-ups and good old-fashioned conversations to bring to market a variety of new technology products, and ensure that clear product lifecycle strategies are properly utilised - I hope you like providing an ideal solution for somebody's problem.
Sounds good so far, but is it for me?
Yes, maybe. Definitely if you have a true passion for technology and the oomph to take the lead on projects, setting them into motion fearlessly. That sort of passion is exactly what our client is looking for, they're going to give you the chance to harness that energy and bring the best ideas to the fore.
If you'd describe yourself as a "people person", then this could be a good fit for you too. These guys don't want you sat behind a desk all day, they want you out and about, with the freedom to roam around the building to wherever you choose!
And if, a couple of years down the line, you fancy a step up in responsibility, well then there is nothing in your way. They're not going to hold you back, just prove you deserve it and the progression opportunity is there!
So, what sort of skills/experience do they need me to have?
Let's not beat around the bush. You definitely need:
* Strong experience in a Senior Product Management position
* Familiarity with Agile working
* Good negotiation skills and commercial awareness
* An appreciation for the power and information that data can hold
It would be nice if you can also bring:
* A background in a software development environment
* Experience from working in a product portfolio including cloud and connectivity products
I assume there'll be some sort of salary and benefits involved?
You assume correctly! Our client can offer you around £75,000 as a salary - and there's more where that came from!
Benefits include healthcare schemes; 24 days holiday plus your bank holidays and birthday off; company sick, maternity & paternity schemes - the list goes on.
