Are you a Finance Assistant with experience in credit control and looking for a change?

We are Europe’s leading provider of quality contract and permanent staff for the Technical and Non-Technical industries and are currently seeking a full time Finance Assistant to join our Exeter office (near the airport).

A Finance Assistants Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Chasing outstanding accounts to ensure company invoices are paid within agreed terms
  • Producing monthly debtor statements to clients
  • Dealing with the resolving of invoice queries received in an efficient and timely manner
  • Processing and distributing of invoices/credit notes and statements as required
  • Payment allocations and account reconciliation
  • Other duties as directed by Line Manager

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically with attention to detail
  • High level of numeracy and ability to deal accurately with calculations
  • Ability to organise, schedule and adapt work tasks to meet conflicting deadlines and respond to changing situations
  • Willingness to always develop skills and knowledge
  • Experience of using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and database systems
  • Previous experience with Sage 50 Accounts
  • Previous experience in a similar role

Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Desirable for candidate to be qualified at CICM Level but not essential
