Overview of the company;

Pratap Partnership is working with a PLC in Sheffield who are looking to cover for a Group Finance Manager maternity leave for 12-18 months. There is also a strong chance of a permanent role after this period. This is an integral position to the business and offers scope to develop your skills in a very friendly organisation and report to the Finance Director

This is an integral position to the business and offers scope to develop your skills in a very friendly organisation and report to the Finance Director

Coaching and development of a team of four, comprising three direct reports and one indirect report, including, periodic one to one catch ups, appraisals and general day to day queries.

A key role in the production of the financial statements and disclosures for the Group Consolidated Annual Report and RNS (bi-annually)

Extensive liaison with the audit team at year end, half year, interim and subsidiary statutory accounts stages

Review of subsidiary statutory accounts

Involvement in the preparation of corporation tax packs and answering of queries thereon

Involvement in the review of the corporation tax forecasting model

Liaison with internal and external stakeholders to prepare accounting papers on financial accounting of corporate structures and complex property transactions including the tax implications of VAT and corporation tax • Maintenance of the options to tax register

Dealing with property VAT queries from team members and liaising with our tax advisors where needed

Preparation of the quarterly Group VAT returns • Review of the monthly joint venture VAT returns and preparation of a month end file, incorporating internals controls of the review of sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank, payroll and journals

Assistance in the financials of our management companies and joint ventures and ad hoc projects where required

Overview of expectations;

Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with a strong technical knowledge, looking for future career advancement and an opportunity to develop your experience further

First class inter-personal and communication skills are essential, a high degree of systems literacy (particularly with Excel and Power Point) required and a committed approach with an attitude of being willing to go the extra mile when necessary

Commercially aware, you enjoy working with a friendly, positive team of people who are really trying to make a difference.

You will be proactive, organised, flexible and have a meticulous attention to detail.

Experience of accounting packages and accounts production software is also desirable but not essential
