I am working on the behalf of my client to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to join their growing business based in Peterborough due to a restructure and expansion within their finance department.
The purpose of the role is to undertake the day to day tasks in connection with the accurate recording of financial information and the delivery of Management Accounts for the clients company. You will be required to prepare, examine and analyse reports. Preparing and submission of tax documents and maintain effective controls over ledger management.
That’s the role in a nut shell but your key accountabilities will include:
-Assist with the production of accurate and timely financial statements (P&L accounts, cash flows, balance sheets) including commentary on key variances to budget and prior year for each Group company
-Prepare month-end and year-end journals with supporting documentation to ensure accurate relevant postings within each accounting period
-Review and ultimately approve the monthly reconciliations for all trial balance accounts
-Assess and verify monthly movement in each company’s assets and liabilities accounts
-Assess and verify material monthly expenses recorded each period
-Assess and verify material cash flows occurring each period
-Calculate and record the monthly Input/output VAT balances and prepare the quarterly payment schedule
-Provide accurate, timely and relevant management reports to the functional leadership as required during the course of each period
-Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth
-Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process through provision of historical information and trend analysis
