We have an exciting opportunity for an Auditor to join our client's offices on a temporary contract basis for 12 months with the possibility of extension in order to cover maternity leave for the current postholder. You will be based within the Internal Audit Team in Sandbach, however, travel to other locations may be required.
As the Auditor, you will lead and deliver a wide range of complex assignments to ensure that the Council's control environment is assessed in accordance with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards. This will include leading and delivering risk based audit and assurance reviews across the three strategic areas of the Council; People, Place and Corporate, ensuring assignment objectives are met, that work is performed to prescribed quality standards, within budget and by agreed target dates.
To be successful for this Auditor post you will need:
- Be client focused, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of current audit principles and practices, and significant relevant experience in a complex and changing environment.
- Have a professional audit or accountancy qualification, and be able to demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, especially Word and Excel.
- Experience in using an Audit Management System would also be useful.

Your working hours will be Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 17:00

Pay rate: £15.50 p/h
