Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages: Spanish with German (NQTs welcome to apply)

Required for September 2019. Pay scale: MTPS (place on scale dependent on experience).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed teacher of MFL who can teach across the full age and ability range.

Patcham High School is an 11–16 comprehensive school of 1000 students, situated on the northern outskirts of Brighton, very close to the old village of Patcham. The school is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and we are in an exciting phase of development to become ‘Outstanding’. We are known for our innovative approach and we value CPD very highly.

The MFL department has ‘Hub School’ status as part of a new Modern Foreign Languages HUB scheme established by the Department for Education. As such the languages department is one of only forty five schools across the country who are taking a lead on developing and improving languages teaching during this two year project. This is a very exciting opportunity for us to be a part of such an innovative project and to give our pupils access to the most recent pedagogy and teaching methods with regards to language learning.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is:

  • passionate about languages
  • able to contribute to the growth of the department
  • innovative, dynamic and forward-looking
  • ICT literate
  • committed to high quality teaching and learning for students of all abilities
  • a team player

If you enjoy a challenge and are interested in furthering your career, either apply on-line or, please download the application form (also available on the school’s website http://www.patchamhigh.brighton-hove.sch.uk/school-information-2/vacancies/ If you have any questions, please contact Elise Holmes, Headteacher’s PA by email eholmes@patchamhigh.org.uk or by telephone 01273 543484
