Project Manager – The Role: The Project Manager is responsible for the initiation, planning, delivery and closure of new product development projects – on time; to specification; to product cost; within planned budget. These product development projects will have small development teams (typically Project Manager – Key Responsibilities: - Lead cross-functional project teams. - Develop and maintain an integrated schedule, product specification, product cost model, risk assessment, resource plan and budget. - Lead the execution of the project including tradeoff decisions; identification of risks and issues; problem solving; negotiate and ensure availability of resources. - Ensure project compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements. - Capture the requirements and manage the expectation of key stakeholders. - Conduct phase toll gate and monthly management reviews. - Where required take role of Product Owner within a small agile/Scrum team. - Where necessary, on smaller projects, act as product engineer - carrying out product level testing and creating product documentation. Project Manager – You: Key Behavioural Success Factors - Pro-active and relentless in solving cross functional problems by collaborating with functional leads in Product Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Marketing and Customer Services as well as Engineering. - Technically capable – capable of understanding customer and product technologies. - Strong motivational leadership and the ability to influence others without direct authority. - Provide clear and unambiguous project goals and deliverables. - Champion the project, ensuring clarity of vision and effective communication with key stakeholders; using strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ensure that roles and responsibilities are unmistakably understood and agreed upon by all. - Plan continuously and prioritise ruthlessly. Education and Experience - 3+ years Product Development experience with cross-functional exposure in a relevant high-tech industry. - Demonstrated success in leading at least one project or major part of a project – perhaps in project engineering role - from conception to launch. - Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent. - Experience of working with software development engineers or teams, and have an understanding of agile software development processes.
