Are you looking for a varied role that is people facing, a role where no two days are the same and one than can offer all the training you need?
What is a Streetworks Technician?
A Streetworks Technician with Ringway Jacobs is a niche role. Essentially, you will be conducting inspections of works being undertaken by utility companies, local authority and other third party contractors. There are currently 2 roles available, one based in Aylesbury and another based in High Wycombe.
Based in either Aylesbury or High Wycombe, you will oversee the work and ensure compliance is adhered to. This could be on highway projects or traffic management projects. You will work independently where you will travel around different sites within the Buckinghamshire’s highway network.
Part of the role is to ensure that legislation and procedures are adhered to correctly. Other aspects of the role will see you attending local authority meetings, completing necessary administration or reporting and deal with any emergency or potential danger that makes a highway unsafe for the public regardless of time of day or night .
What's in it for you?
A competitive salary with an opportunity to work for a large growing organisation as well as employee benefits.
You will also have a busy role that offers variety and responsibility.
What we are looking for
The most important skill for this role is the ability to communicate professionally. On occasions you may be asking contractors to rectify completed works to comply with legislation, this can be challenging and for this you will need the ability to communicate effectively.
You will also be comfortable working independently. You will have support from the Senior Streetworks Technician and spend a small amount of time in the office completing admin but the majority of the time you will be out and about on your own.
Experience working in a highways or utility based role and knowledge of legislation would be a distinct advantage but this is not essential as it can be trained. If you have the right personable skills, have common sense and can think on your feet, the rest can be taught.
A driving Licence is essential for this role.
