Over the last year, the University has been heavily focused on implementing a new integrated ERP system, Oracle. This has been a phenomenal achievement for all involved and are now looking to recruit a permanent IT Security Manager to join their highly driven, professional IT team.

The Opportunity

As BCU’s IT Security Manager, you will protect the University’s services and data, whilst ensuring security initiatives are leveraged to support the institution’s strategic objectives.

Leading the IT Security Team, you will undertake a variety of activities and projects, enhancing the University’s security position and capabilities. Disciplines sought include security incident management, investigations, resilience development, customer service and operational service management duties. Vulnerability management and remediation will also form an important part of this role.

You will also play a pivotal role in championing security awareness across the University, and provide advice to staff and students on security related matters. Exciting opportunities also exist to undertake process improvement initiatives, which will require liaising with staff at all levels across the University

Personal Profile

The successful candidate will have prior experience securing networks and servers, including cloud based services, which are playing an increasingly important part in a dynamic and progressive environment such as Birmingham City University.
