This is an exciting, career-defining opportunity for a Qualified ACA or ACCA Finance Manager to join a household name £60m t/o market leader, based in impressive offices in Liverpool city centre. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, and managing a team of 3, your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the accounting, audit, financial control, transaction & treasury processes for the main business unit of the group
  • Developing modern & effective financial systems, controls & procedures to ensure optimum operational efficiency & accuracy
  • Producing Group management accounts - running the month end close timetable
  • Producing Management Accounts for a European Subsidiary
  • Overseeing day-to-day transaction processing and accounting for all companies
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, relevant GAAP and any regulatory requirements.
  • Balance sheet control
  • Risk assessment
  • Intra-group balance reporting and control
  • Managing the external audit process
  • Production of the group and subsidiary year end statutory accounts
  • Day to day cash management, bank account operation, and other treasury activity
  • Providing support to the business and the Commercial finance team
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with ad-hoc projects and other stakeholder requests

Applicants will be fully qualified ACA, ACCA or ICAS professionals (CIMA Qualified Applicants with experience in a similar profile role will also be considered) with a good understanding of commercial & financial risk, financial processes and how to deliver & operate within a robust internal control environment. You will have good communication skills with the ability to forge strong relationships at all levels within the business up to and including board level. You will also have up to date technical accounting skills (GAAP) with strong IT skills, including advanced MS Excel, and experience of SUN or Caseware would be advantageous.

This is a high profile, highly visible autonomous role with UK and International accounting exposure and working within a friendly and supportive team for an impressive FC. Working closely with both UK and overseas finance teams as well as the In-house Tax manager, the Commercial Finance team and Department budget holders, this is a broad and fulfilling role offering the opportunity for further development and progression in the business.
