Howett Thorpe is proud to be working with a growing technology business in the recruitment of their Financial Controller to be based from their offices near to Camberley.

Financial Controller - About the Role
The role will have responsibility for the smooth running of all financial activities and to oversee the preparation of the financial statements for two UK legal entities. You will be supported by and support a finance team of 4.

As the Financial Controller you will:
  • Be responsible for the day to day management of the finance function
  • Prepare, review and submit the monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of the forecasts and budgets
  • Support regional senior management in managing and achieving annual operation plans
  • Liaise & support external auditors
  • Management of the company’s cash flow
  • Undertake some UK travel and the potential of a small amount of overseas travel

The successful Financial Controller will be/have:
  • A qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Very strong people management experience
  • The ability to make confident business decisions based on financial facts
  • The ability to foresee issues and to be able to deal with them in a quick and professional manner
  • A solid understanding and experience of accounting and finance principles
  • Previous business partnering experience with the ability to work closely with stakeholders outside of the finance function
  • Strong knowledge of process and systems and the ability to make improvements where needed
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of proficiency in Excel
  • The ability to work in a high-pressured environment, run and manage multiple tasks and projects and to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Dynamics AX would be a distinct advantage.
