Role: Maintenance Support Engineer
Location: Ruabon, Wales
Salary: £29K - £31K Per Annum
Job Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Days 8am – 4.30pm Mon – Thur, 8am – 2.30pm Fridays or shifts 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm.

Our client designs and manufactures piezo ceramic components, sensor, transducers and dielectric ceramic products at two sites in the UK (Ruabon, Wales and Southampton, England) and with a subcontracted production facility in Latvia.
OVERVIEW & SCOPE OF ROLE:
A member of the business units engineering team, with primary responsibility for the maintenance of mechanical equipment and control systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES:
Operations• To follow established maintenance systems and procedures • To recommend, establish and implement effective preventative maintenance procedures for cap-ital equipment where there do not currently exist • To effectively support all the business initiatives which will move the business forward towards a world class manufacturing one. Initiatives would include ThinkSAFE, find it fix it, 5s, kaizen • To plan, schedule and undertake routine maintenance work as required and instructed • To support Production teams by responding quickly to reports of equipment breakdown or failure and ensuring all repairs are undertaken effectively and with minimal disruption to normal production • To gain a comprehensive understanding of the PLC controlled, and other specialist equipment in order to provide full fault diagnosis, support and repair
• To undertake critical spares analyses for key items of production equipment and to ensure that adequate stocks of spare components are maintained
Will be required to work out of normal production hours as and when necessary, in order to minimise disruption to production.People & Culture •• Team player, working from own initiative and resilient •• Analytical in approach to problem solving and an effective communicator at all levels •• Supports the behaviour of working as a team, sharing best practice and collaborating with col-leagues across other business units. EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
Requirements of Role:•• Educated to at least GCSE grade C standard or equivalent. •• Formal qualification in an Engineering discipline (BTEC or equivalent) •• Good level of computer literacy. •• A minimum of five years’ work experience within a manufacturing environment is essential •• Proven experience of mechanical repair or production equipment is essential •• Basic welding experience is desirable •• Experience of maintenance and repair of PLC control systems is desirable •• Must be able to demonstrate initiative to resolve problems and capable of working alone •• Must be a good communicator and able to operate to a high standard within a team-based envi-ronment.
