Kingston Barnes are currently recruiting for Mechanical Maintenance Engineers who want to develop their career.

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer needs to be able to work on pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, and bearings.

The Company

With over half a century of experience supplying the automotive industry, our client specialises in the casting, machining of automotive parts.

Role Purpose/Responsibilities

To carry out Mechanical maintenance on the company’s machines. That can range from Rams, hydraulics, pumps, pneumatics, industrial machinery.

Majority of the work will be Pre planned and reactive maintenance.

They should be a time served Mechanical Technician and an HNC in a relevant subject would be an advantage. They should have proven experience in the maintenance of modern complex Mechanical control systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Core abilities to include pro-active maintenance, fault diagnosis and rectification, all within time sensitive constraints. Experience in a similar industry/working environment preferred.

Core skills/qualifications (must have)

Apprenticeship trained/ONC/HNC/HND/City and Guilds

Background – Manufacturing, Heavy engineering, Forces

Specific Job Skills

Good Mechanical knowledge (Training provided but need to have an understanding/experience)

4 years minimum manufacturing/maintenance experience (Someone who can hit the ground running)

Hierarchical structure/ Organogram

Maintenance Technician – Lead Technician – Supervisor – Superintendent

Background of the team

Ranges from apprentices to time served engineers and everything in between. Various background such as forces guys, manufacturing guys, heavy engineering experience (Steel etc…)


Monday – Friday (Double day shift 6 -2 p.m., 2 – 10 p.m.)
