This is an opportunity to join a research centre in south Lincolnshire conducting R&D and communication activity with levy payers.

Specialising in potato, they seek to develop new techniques and practices for crop storage on behalf of wider industry.

Role responsibilities
The role is to provide maternity cover for the QA Officer for Sutton Bridge CSR, reporting to the Head of Crop Storage Research.

The role requires the post-holder to take responsibility for processing routine reporting of QMS actions, maintaining records and ensuring smooth running of the quality assurance activities on site.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors and co-ordinates processes of projects and quality management at Sutton Bridge Crop Storage Research.
- Provides administrative support to Head of SBCSR and the staff team at SBCSR.
- Operates within defined administrative responsibilities
- Takes personal accountability for quality of own work
- Responds to detailed internal / external queries in a professional manner, escalating where necessary
- Analyses, reviews and implements changes using professional knowledge gained through relevant experience of processes, to improve efficiency
- Liaison with a wide range of contacts, both internal and external and at senior level to facilitate meetings
Additional Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensures tasks are carried out to meet requirements of ISO9001 (2015) to ensure certification is maintained, including non-conformance recording, corrective and preventive action.
- Ensures SBCSR staff members are kept aware of milestones and other deadlines for the conduct of studies and periodic review of procedures/systems in order to ensure they complete required actions to timescale.
- Undertakes preparation for quality audits and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly in order to meet ISO9001 requirements.
- Maintains the SBCSR controlled archives in order to ensure that information is properly recorded, securely stored and promptly available.
- Co-ordinates administration requirements for quality audits and reviews.
- Carries out specific tasks and projects as detailed by the Head of SBCSR in order to support the work of SBCSR.

Person specification
This part-time role requires previous experience of quality management systems. Knowledge of ORETO accreditation would be an advantage but is not essential.

The successful candidate will have a good eye for detail and be capable of keeping accurate and orderly records as part of the SBCSR quality management system. He/she will be required to work to a set routine but also have the flexibility to react to specific operational requests as required.

- Knowledgeable in professional area of quality management
- Ideally experience to a reasonable level of relevant practical delivery of ISO9001 with emphasis on staff support
- Must show an eye for detail and have good organisational skills

Hours: 17.5 per week
