Assistant Accountant


We are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for our amazing Finance Centre based in Liverpool who will perform assigned Finance Centre accounting activities in a timely and accurate manner, delivering excellent customer service.



  • Print and review sundry payments for compliance with policy
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives


  • Month-end reporting and reconciliations as per instruction from General Accountant
  • Produce Finance Centre KPIs
  • Composite Submission - backup/cover


  • Balance sheet account maintenance and reconciliation
    • Review and maintenance of high volume nominal ledger accounts
    • Suspense account monitoring and investigation of imbalances
    • Review VSB end of day reconciliation, escalate any queries
  • Preparation and posting of journals to iPower SLA
  • Maintain Accruals module for standard fixed postings
  • Housekeeping and ownership of critical sections of Sales & Purchase Ledgers e.g. VSB purchase ledger & Intercompany Sales and Purchase Ledger
  • Liaise with Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger teams as necessary


  • VAT return preparation and analysis every quarter & periodic VAT adjustments and reports
  • PSA return
  • Year-end corporation tax information


  • OEM bonus accounting, ownership of agreed items
  • Review of OEM statement reconciliations, ensure aged items are progressed
  • Vehicle funding reconciliations and associated actions in a timely manner

Bank Reconciliation

  • Resolution of both internal and external customer queries in a timely manner
  • Check, upon request, that customer funds have been received within agreed timescales
  • Review reconciliation for aged items and investigate/clear as necessary

Core Leadership skills required

  • Experience of working in a high volume transaction environment preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Process orientated mind-set
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Part qualified accountant or AAT qualifucation preferred
  • Driving licence essential
