This fantastic secondary school (11-18 year olds) is located in Great Barr, Birmingham, West Midlands. The school is well situated, on a large site, and with excellent transport links, with the local train station just a 5 minute walk away whilst there are a number of bus routes that pass either close to the school or that stop just outside the school gates. Both the trains and buses go in and out of the centre of Birmingham regularly. The school is also conveniently located in a thriving area of Birmingham for your social life.
My client secondary school are looking to appoint an experienced and qualified English Teacher who can Teach 11-18 year olds pupils, to start in September 2019. It is important that you must be fully qualified English Teacher, and have a good understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
The school is an averaged size secondary school (roughly 1000 pupils on roll). The school has specialist status for the performing arts and a second specialism in mathematics and computing. A very large majority of the students are of White British background and the remainder are from different ethnic groups including White Irish. The proportion of students with special educational needs and/or disabilities is low, although the proportion with statements of special educational needs is average. The school achieved a grading on ‘Outstanding’ in 2011 in every category of a government inspection.
In your role as an English Teacher you will take on responsibility for teaching 11-18 year olds. You will be completely supported throughout by the committed and dedicated Head of English and excellent Headteacher.
