An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Premiums and Commissions Reporting team to assist the European Reporting Accountant. This will include supporting the implementation of our new Luxembourg subsidiary into our UK reporting structure and introducing SAP within our European branches.

The role will include consolidation of multiple branch P&Ls into the UK reporting structure; involving high volumes of data, variance analysis and reconciliations at a currency and profit centre level. Further analysis will be required to understand the balance sheet with a key focus on aged debtors.

The role would suit a part or newly qualified accountant looking to expand their experience in financial reporting.

The Opportunity

As a Premium and Commissions Assistant Accountant your main responsibilities will be:

Assisting in the delivery of high quality outputs in the most effective ways whilst ensuring your own personal and professional development

* Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the UK financial statements and related systems to meet Internal and External Reporting requirements.

* Accurately accounting for P&L premium, commission and other income and balance sheet debt and commission creditors

* Working closely with Premiums & Commissions Analysts

* May involve working across a number of European countries with differing accounting standards and practices.

* Managing internal finance and business stakeholders to ascertain and meet their requirements

* Contributing to the preparation of statutory accounts

* Ensuring consistency, reliability and efficiency of information collection, validation and aggregation processes, across multiple internal and/or external sources

Minimum skills and experience required:

* Effective and proportionate financial control

* Understanding of IFRS, relevant law, regulation and/or listing requirements to ensure the UK accounting and reporting is compliant.

* Qualified Accounting professional

* Relevant previous experience in a limited company and/or regulated business

* Proven ability to manage complex financial reporting procedures and consistently achieve accurate, on time delivery
