Electrical Controls Engineer. If you have an interest in Electrical Engineering, an NVQ, C&G, Btec or similar qualification in Engineering and are looking to develop your skills and experience as an Electrical Controls Engineer along a planned career path, look no further. Based in Warrington, the employer provides a complete turnkey electrical and mechanical supply, install & maintenance service for their customers within the UK and around the globe.
The company is a market leader in a specialist field, and with growing demand from clients they are currently looking for additional, high calibre talent. Looking to the future, they are hiring an ambitious engineer wishing to develop his/her skills & experience and fast-track their career.
The successful applicant will be given a thorough grounding in electrical engineering, with on-the-job and external training where required. There are exceptional prospects for career progression for the right candidate and you will be encouraged to become the best you can be.
The successful applicant will:
• Have an NVQ, C&G, Btec or similar qualification in engineering
• Have good knowledge of electrical principles
• The ability to understand electrical schematic drawings
• Basic experience with electrical draughting software
• An understanding of electric motors, drives, relay logic, PLC’s & touchscreens
• Experience with Siemens & Allen Bradley would be advantageous but not essential
• Be willing to help develop, build & commission control panels
• An enthusiasm for varied & challenging projects
• An ability to solve interesting technical issues
• Be a confident user of MS Office software, particularly Word & Excel
• Have good English and Math skills
• Be able to prioritise and manage your own workload
• Be able to handle pressure in busy periods
• Be happy to work overtime and weekends when the need arises
• Be willing to work occasional short periods away from home both in UK and overseas
• Have a full drivers licence with no more than 3 points, and own transport

Hours of work are 38-40 hours per week, with overtime and weekend work available during busy periods. The role comes with free on-site parking, mobile phone, laptop, health insurance, an attractive £20 - £22k pa starting salary negotiable depending on experience, and annual On-Target-Earnings circa £30k.
