Akton Recruitment are on the lookout for a 1st/ 2nd line Field Support Engineer for schools and Educational practices supporting the following technologies (Win 2016/2012R2, Active Directory Administration, Exchange 2013 \ Office 365 including Hybrid, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP etc) to work for a leading managed service provider.

This is a varied, challenging and hugely rewarding role. Whilst this is a technical position, the role requires the building of strong relationships with the customer and will thus suit someone that is not only passionate about ICT, but is a great communicator, has a proactive attitude, loves solving problems and ultimately gets a real buzz out of going the extra mile to delight customers and users.

Key Responsibilities:

* Respond to using the Centralised Helpdesk Ticketing process, diagnose and resolve ICT incidents in order to maintain / exceed contracted service levels.

* Regularly communicate with the users and wider Managed Service team to keep them updated and informed.

* Ensure spares are maintained to guarantee service availability.

* Assist in with implementing changes to the ICT provision in line with requests made by the customer through the Change Process.

* Understand the ICT solution delivered to the school and identify areas of improvement.

* Maintain accurate incident records.

* Technical Skill-set and qualifications:

* At least 5 years of previous experience in different operating systems, communications and networking.

* Server Administration including Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, Active Directory, File and Print services, shares and Group Policy.

* Exchange 2013 / 2016 Administration and Office 2013 and 2016.

* Strong DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP & VPN skills.

* A high level of PC and hardware maintenance and repair skills (e.g. Server break-fix).

* Backup and antivirus experience (Microsoft SCCM + DPM + Sophos)

* Citrix Xen App \ VDi (XenDesktop).

* Knowledge & understanding of virtualisation technologies (Preferably Hyper-V).

* Knowledge of Cisco products , firewalls, routers & WAN technologies.

* Ideally, the 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer will be Microsoft accredited i.e. MCP, MCTS, MCITP or MCSA.

* If any candidates have qualifications in any of the following, it would be an added advantage:

* CISCO CCNA.

* Cloud Computing knowledge also an advantage including Microsoft Azure \ Amazon AWS

* Ability to work in multiple environments (both physically on site with clients as well as remotely) under minimal supervision or direction.

* A good understanding of the ITIL Process.

* A full clean driving licence is essential.
