OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

We are looking for someone to join us to lead and manage the deployment of the strategic projects for supply chain improvement within Global Brands. Reporting in to the Senior Supply Chain Development Manager you will act as a supply chain subject matter expert, enabling Global Brands to meet the capability requirements of a growing organisation which is responsible for providing innovative, differentiated products at great value to Walgreens, Boots and International Retail. The focus of this role is supply chain collaboration and execution.

About Global Brands Supply

Global brands existing supply chain has been built off the back of the UK centric Boots UK supply chain and today consists of an increasingly complex blend of different processes and systems.

We are 2 years into a 5 year transformation of our supply chain capability required to continue to provide our existing high standards of customer service, at the same time as enabling our future business growth ambition.

We are based in Nottingham, UK with Regional offices in New York and Hong Kong and would love to hear from talented supply chain professionals who would like to join us on our transformation journey as we build a premier global supply chain capability for WBA.

Your responsibilities

* To act as a subject matter expert (SME) for collaboration and execution within Global Brands Supply: Work with cross functional teams to design and build business transformation and improvement changes.

* To design and build functionality and capability within supply chain that enables Global Brands to deliver its vision and ensure that operational teams who are responsible for delivery of day to day delivery of business objectives have the support, tools and infrastructure required to be successful.

* To lead cross functional project teams delivering the supply chain and sourcing strategy for global brands, ensuring a responsive and agile supply chain that is able to fully meet the needs of our growing and expanding business.

* To find innovative solutions to supply chain challenges associated with working with demanding customers across diverse geographies based on industry best practice and unique solutions to specific challenges.

* Work closely with the IT function to implement IT systems that enable the supply chain processes and functionality i.e defining IT requirements, writing test plans and working with IT project managers to lead IT projects.

* Work with the Senior Supply Chain Development Manager – Planning & Collaboration to build the development roadmap, ensuring that the business needs are accommodated within transformation plans.

* Write and own project business case and project plan documents, working with finance partners to develop the benefits cases and project budget. Delivery of projects on time and budget is critical, working with partners to recover from setbacks, handling deviation from the plan and managing partners across the business and externally to ensure that expectations are met.

* To research and learn from external ways of working through professional networks and relationships ensuring that we deliver an industry leading service to WBA trading businesses and external customers.

A bit about you

* A graduate with relevant experience within the development of supply chain - 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain roles within the retail/FMCG industries.

* Experience of successfully leading high profile, complex projects, working cross functionally and working to a budget with a track record of delivery

* You should have expertise of working with supply chain collaboration and supply chain IT systems, including working to implement new IT tools and processes, preferably with E2Open software tools (although this is not essential)

* Digitally fluent; comfortable working at distance using collaboration and communication tools

* Some project management experience is preferred, either working as a project manager or working as functional expert within formal project team delivering change

* You will be an excellent communicator, building relationships with internal stakeholders across cultural, geographical and language barriers.

* Value Based Decision Making: Understanding of importance of optimising value and the generation of issues and alternatives to find value maximising solutions.
