1st Line Technical Support / Developer - Salary £15,000-£20,000 DOE plus excellent benefits
Based: Gloucester
Our Client a leading compliance firm working within the retail car sector need a 1st Line Support Technician / Junior Developer to join their team. The position would be ideal for someone with 12 months experience within a helpdesk environment or with development experience who has good customer service skills and wants to grow their career in support and development.
Key Job Responsibilities:
* Providing software and hardware support to internal employees and business partners
* Providing answers to common technical questions, identifying problems; researching answers; connecting to client systems (where allowed) and making appropriate fixes, or guiding client through corrective steps
* Improve performance of and develop internal tools, reports and processes for compliance
* Keeping the Bug and support tracking systems (Jira) up to date
* Keeping the internal WIKI (confluence) updated with latest solutions
* Investigating issues not resolved by phone including analysing, debugging and making changes to the code base where appropriate
* Assist in the development and maintenance of unit and integration tests
* Assist in monitoring customer compliance by creating and scheduled running of reports
* Assist in the Quality Control of new products and software improvements
* Carry out structured testing and report back results
* Ensure that customers have the correct training and information to perform their job roles
* Escalate issues in-line with business process ensuring key people are aware
* Provide software support using Remote Control/Access systems, following basic processes and diagnostics to establish the exact problem on site and implement fixes
* Assist with implementation of new software, hardware releases and ad-hoc rollouts
Skills and Experience required:
* Minimum of 12 months experience in a 1st line support role or developing code and software
* Excellent Oral and ritten communication skills are required
* Educated to GCSE level in Maths and English ideally with some IT Qualifications (Microsoft would be advantageous)
* Keen attention to detail and able to prioritise workloads
* Good problem analysis/problem solving skills
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office preferred
* An understanding of remote call logging, JAVA, iOS, and some testing experience would be ideal although is not essential
* Training and development will be provided on the job
