BlairWest are delighted to be assisting one of the North East’s most recognizable businesses with their recruitment process for a Management Accountant.

Following strong growth in recent years, the business is now looking to appoint a talented Accountant who can add commercial value, whilst working as part of a small finance team. The Management Accountant will be responsible for supporting with the production and analysis of key monthly financial information, whilst contributing to the continuous development of the financial systems & processes.

Applicants should have a good understanding of IT, in particular Microsoft Excel and will be able to communicate efficiently with both internal / external stakeholders.

Applications will be considered from applicants who are qualified, or actively studying for a formal accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA or CIMA).

This is a full time and permanent position, with a competitive benefits salary and benefits package on offer.

Responsibilities will include:

* Production of monthly management accounts and key financial information

* Assisting with budget planning, setting and appraisal

* Working closely with non-finance colleagues to understand departmental budgets, financial position and performance

* Cash flow forecasting

* Ensuring robust financial controls are in place

* Contributing to the development of accounting systems and processes

* Supporting with the timely and accurate submission of statutory and other regulatory information

* Financial analysis - appraising multiple sites financial performance and provision of supporting commentary

* Projects will involve appraising commercial opportunities for new business ventures and developments

* Supporting with contract renewals and negotiation

* Aiding with development and training of colleagues and junior finance staff

Person Specification:

* Qualified Accountant or finalist (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)

* Strong communication skills – ability to manage both internal / external stakeholder relationships

* Advanced IT skills – financial modelling / strong Microsoft Excel skills

* Commercial mind-set

* Ability to analyse large sets of complex financial data
