Hours: 8.30-5 (Mon-Fri) 1 hr lunch

Location: Cramlington

Our client is a leading service provider operating within heavy logistics, supporting in the fields of Marine, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Civil Engineering & Heavy Engineering/Fabrication sectors. We are seeking to recruit a QHSE Lead to manage the group HSQE systems and support the various business units to operate safely and efficiently in line with their processes to deliver the highest quality service to their clients. We are ideally seeking a proactive, energetic individual with the ability to self-manage; there will be a need for travel throughout the UK within this role. The role offers much scope for career progression as the business has ambitious future growth plans.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

* Management System Administration and Management:

* Maintain the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Management Systems to relevant standard (ISO and OHSAS)

* Ensure systems are implemented and operational throughout the business

* Maintain records on area specific HSE audits, inspections, reports, certifications, permits, etc.

* Prepare and update HSQE statistical tracking and trending data

* Conducts QHSE presentations and training to employees as required

* Carry out inspections and audits of workplaces mainly in the UK but some foreign travel should be expected.

* Management System Development:

* Assist to develop Business Operating System (Quality) and HSE action plans that comply with Company policies and procedures, regulatory/legal and specific client requirements

* Assist with the development and implementation of appropriate procedures for both the shipping and heavy lifting activities of the business

* Project/Operation Support:

* Provide Project Manager with feedback on HSE performance

* Attends Pre-Project, Planning, Taskforce and other meetings as required

* Conducts HSE audits, undertake premises risk assessment and assist managers with carrying out project specific risk assessment and inspections

The successful applicant will;

* Be a member of IOSH

* Hold a NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

* Have a formal auditing qualification (advantageous)

* Have the ability to use and apply a structure and consisten approach to update or introduce new systems
