Shift Maintenance Technician – Full Time Great Yarmouth We are seeking to recruit a Shift Maintenance Technician for our Gt Yarmouth-based client. Working as part of the engineering team to support production across site, the Technician will primarily respond to breakdowns and the completion of planned maintenance activities. Job Spec: •Respond to and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns of packaging and manufacturing equipment. •Maintain electro-mechanical filling, packing and fluid manufacturing equipment to a high degree of reliability. •Production line change-over and set up. •Development and implementation of modifications to equipment to facilitate reduced maintenance requirements raised performance and reduced change-over times. •Training line operators to carry out simple maintenance. •Work with the Maintenance Co-ordinator to analyse break-down, minor stop and maintenance information to improve equipment reliability and reduce the maintenance requirement. •Take an active part in any continuous improvement initiatives as required. •Comply with company policies and procedures relating to health and safety and quality. Person Spec: •Have at least 5 years experience in an FMCG food or pharmaceutical environment. •Knowledgeable in the use of continuous improvement methods to reduce equipment problems and raise performance. •Determined to provide a high degree of ‘customer service’ to the production teams. •Has a logical and methodical approach to problem solving. •Flexible with regards to working hours, if required. •Ability to respond positively to changing work demands. •Enthusiastic in the pursuit of engineering and production quality and performance perfection. •Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. •Effective and professional communication skills, both written and verbal. Qualifications: •Qualified with a recognised electrical or mechanical qualification, preferably both. If the qualification is electrical only the individual must be able to demonstrate competence in mechanical engineering also. •Minimum 5 GCSEs, grade A-C (or equivalent) to include both English and Mathematics. Terms: •2 Shift working pattern, hours of work: •Monday to Thursday – 6am to 2 to 10pm •Friday 6am to 1 to •Paid breaks – 2 x 20 mins. •Overtime during the week paid at Standard Rate x •Overtime rate on Saturdays paid at Standard Rate x •Overtime rate on Sundays paid at Standard Rate x 2. •25 days Holiday per year, plus bank holidays. •Salary c £30,000 per annum dependent on experience + shift premium
