This company specialises in designing and manufacturing innovative ergonomic lighting products that help people to see better. They sell into the Industrial, Craft & Hobby, Art, Beauty and Sight Loss markets throughout the UK, Europe and USA.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a senior quality role for a number of years and is ready to take the next step to Quality Management, alternatively, is already working as a Quality Manager and wishes to expand their responsibilities and experience. With a solid quality systems and manufacturing background you should be able to hit the ground running in the role which will involve managing and leading the Chinese Quality Team, assist with auditing suppliers in the Far East and ensuring compliance of all products to the necessary standards.

The role will also include involvement with new product development and gives opportunity for direct input into the construction & quality of new products.

The role:

- Managing & leading the Far East Quality Team (QA Manager and 3 QC inspectors)

- Monitoring product quality and take the lead to solve any issues

- Assist the Chinese QA Manger with on-going improvements to supplier quality systems and procedures.

- Work closely with the UK in-house design team to ensure that new products meet the necessary quality requirement

- Ensure that all products meet the legal safety requirements & necessary environmental standards

- Office based (in London) and travel to China 2 or 3 times a year

The person:

- At least 5 years in an experienced quality role within the manufacturing / quality field

- Preferably degree level qualified with knowledge & experience of quality systems

- A great multi-tasker and really loves quality and making things better

- As well as managing a team is happy to get hands-on and grab a problem and solve it

- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and suppliers
