Through leveraging insight gained from data, the successful candidate can have a genuine impact across the entire organisation. SWP&A is a growing and highly ambitious team of individuals whose shared aspiration is to become a world class leader in the field of Workforce Analytics. We are looking for a passionate data scientist to join us on that journey and to help shape our data science strategy moving forward. Job Description Analyse complex data using analytical and statistical rigour to drive business decisions, resulting in economic and/or cultiral impact Be the SME for Data Science within the team, be able to create and refine predictive models through machine learning and other advanced analytics techniques. Have knowledge in both structured and unstructured data Work with the team to build and embed coding best practice. Deliver data visualizations that make complex data easier to understand, and package the data story into a polished presentation for leadership audiences Tell the story; effectively communicate your results with stakeholders. Does it make sense to them? This is critical for us, avoid the Black Box approach! Partner closely with senior HR and business leaders to understand their business challenges and develop appropriate analytical solutions. Help us to grow, mentor and develop members of the team who are passionate about data science Act as a champion for the use of analytics within the broader People function, encouraging the use of data to drive insights to higher performance Continually innovate. Review the external market and when you spot an opportunity bring it back into the team to develop further Build the advocacy; act as spokesperson for the team both internal and external. Help generate excitement about the impact Workforce Analytics and Strategic Workforce Planning can have. Build the pipeline; work with universities and research centres to drive people analytics initiatives. Do the right thing, establish effective security/confidentially standards. Ethics is a key part of what we do within the team Keep us at the top of our game, recommend improvements to back-end data sources for increased accuracy and simplicity Minimum Qualifications Advanced qualifications in data science, maths, finance, engineering, statistics, or related discipline is required. Experience in a data scientist role Proven analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases. Demonstrated ability to tell a story through data and communicate effectively with senior leadership and other key stakeholders; mastery of advanced visualization and analytical techniques with an ability to translate findings for a general business audience Proficient in SQL, R or Pytho n Strong business acumen, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills Ability to influence and develop cross-functional team members Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities Team player who manages collaboratively with the ability to influence management, in some cases without authority Ability to self-direct, multitask, and prioritize a constantly evolving workload Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in people analytics -- experience working with Human Resources, People and Business data to generate meaningful insights for leaders and decision makers Prior experience in using Tableau/Power BI on Workday based data Experience in partnering with business owners to understand requirements and develop supporting analysis to solve business problems.
