Buyers Assistant - Stationery

Our Stationery Buyers are given massive scope, focusing on the end-to-end process of new product development, from initial design to Far East sourcing, right through to finding creative ways to display the products in-store.

We now have the requirement for a Buyers Assistant to work in our Head Office in Swindon, in our Stationery category. So if you are passionate about Stationery and Promotions, read on.

What you’ll be doing

As a Buyers Assistant, you will manage the setup of all new products and new suppliers, liaising with suppliers on new line/range details to maintain accurate product information including the update of price changes. You will provide daily and weekly reports on sales to help drive performance and manage the maintenance of supplier files/tracking of supplier annual agreements and administration of income. You will build ranges in the merchandise centre and support the team with general administration. In addition to this, you will manage the creation and updating of all new product information, and support with promotional campaigns coordinating free standing display units (FSDU’s) across the estate.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone that has a keen interest in retail looking to work for a well known brand and to make their first step into Buying. You should ideally be numerate and have experience working in a fast paced environment where your organisation skills are needed to succeed. This position would suit someone that has intermediate Excel skills with good knowledge of Microsoft packages, with strong interpersonal skills and desire to progress. The main crux of this role is to build relationships across the wider business, so ideally you would have experience of building and maintaining strong relationships.

We are not looking for someone that has come from a Buying background, although this would be advantageous. If you are a recent graduate, or have proven experience in a retail or administration role, this role could suit you.
