Exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a prestigious company based in Taunton
The quality engineer ensures products and processes meet appropriate quality and efficiency standards and fosters a culture of stopping to fix problems right away , the earlier the better, through (1) the provision of tools to achieve quality the first time, (2) tools to monitor processes that are susceptible to variables and (3) an efficient corrective action process .
Manages, plans, coordinates, and supports the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards. The Quality Engineer will prescribe the systems and procedures needed to enable employees to detect problems, stop to request help, facilitate fixes and prevent re-occurrence of issues. They will support the deployment of data collection and measurement infrastructure required and ensure processes and procedures for analysing, reporting and acting upon collected data are in place. The Quality engineer will also facilitate root cause problem solving to address quality issues arising and ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.
Is the department focal point for running the red table process. Control of non-conforming product within the work Centre. Processing work through Javelin to ensure items are processed IAW CPB 025. QC ensuring process adherence through robust standard work. Coach and lead team members in associated documents to work Centre. Help training and sign off competence levels in associated work Centre.
Member of problem solving activities. Using company procedures and documentation to record the improvements and actions. Identify CTQ - Critical to Quality elements, measurement points, Control limits
SIPOC - Process mapping Define Project charter and time lines for RCCA or implementation of new quality initiatives.Calibration/tooling system to support production. Define systems and enable robust controls to ensure production is supported to work within our company system.
The successful applicant will have a sound understanding and practical experience of six sigma process analysis and improvement. Strong attention to detail and process driven.Ability to work as part of a team to both set achieve targets using a variety of communicating skills written and verbal.Must be computer literate and have an ability to review amend and update documentation. knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) would be an advantage, though training will be provided. Strong leadership and resilience with an ability to stand up for and promote best practice. Self motivated to plan and prioritise own work within a guidance framework provided. Good communication skills. Continuous learner with a willingness to research and fill knowledge gaps as necessary.
At least 5 years experience of quality engineering or process engineering.
Lean Six Sigma yellow/green or black belt.
Member of CQI
HNC/HND in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
Salary in the region of 35k-40k + excellent benefits package
