Your new job working as a Claims Handler will be for a specialist Lloyd's Broker in the City. Your new Lloyd's Brokers have a wealth of experience and strong relationships with Lloyd's Markets which have been built over the years. They provide innovative, personal solutions to a wide variety of UK and International clients with large, complex or delicate risks and specialised insurance needs. They bring extensive market knowledge, technical skills and dedicated services together to deliver a satisfying service. Due to the substantial growth in the Sports and Entertainment division, a new permanent position for a Claims Handler has arisen.
Your new role
Your new job working as a Claims Handler means you will be responsible for servicing the claims needs of the customers, providing quality customer care, ensuring that all issues relating to the claims process are dealt with proactively. You will undertake necessary enquires to obtain sufficient information to establish policy liability and progress claims efficiently, as well as registering new claims accurately on the systems and updating the records during the life of the claim. You will ensure all claims and correspondence, on delegated authority cases, are correctly maintained and to provide a clear and concise history of events, actions and quantum assessment. You will also obtain and submit completed Client claim documentation to Insurers or nominated service providers promptly and provide advice and assistance to Clients, to actively manage the claim process and minimise lapse time. Other duties will include answering telephone calls promptly and effectively dealing with all enquiries in a professional and efficient manner, communicating effectively with Insurers, nominated service providers, engineers and Loss Adjusters etc, using methods appropriate to the circumstances, (including telephone/e-mail/fax, dictation), to ensure the highest levels of customer service are maintained, dispatch claim settlement cheques on date of receipt and maintain a recovery database to drive retained recoveries to settlement.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as a Claims Handler dealing with Commercial Claims will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have the ability to use own initiative, ability to work as a team player and have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. You will have good practical working knowledge of current FCA regulations and experience of adhering to and maintaining systems and procedures. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult and influence at all levels, as well as ability to develop effective working relationships externally and internally. Other personal skills required are to include, personal effectiveness, including time management and priority setting, high personal drive and resilience, ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate and influence, and continuous application of personal/professional development
