Equine Assessor/Tutor - Kent
£22000 -£23,000 per annum, plus £3k car allowance
Our client is a Wiltshire based, award winning, Ofsted Grade 1 training provider who deliver apprenticeships on a national basis. They are looking for a high performing, qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Equine Assessor to join their team in Kent. Experience of delivery on Equine Apprenticeship Standards and the differences in the sector post reforms is highly desirable.
You will manage a caseload of learners based in Kent,, supporting the entire learner journey, including:
Enrolment/induction and initial assessment
Equine teaching, learning and assessment
Delivery of Functional Skills English and maths
Supporting the wider curriculum (PREVENT, British Values, Safeguarding, ICT, Information, Advice and Guidance, etc.)
Completing interim and mock End Point Assessments
Correct completion of mandatory paperwork to evidence all aspects of the learner journey to an auditable standard
You will work closely with learners and employers to ensure that learners receive a high level of quality vocational training as well as their development and achievement of Functional Skills in English and maths at level 2.
You will need to have:
Minimum five years' recent experience working in the relevant equine sector and the occupational route that they would be assessing. Must be able to cover a generic equine, racing or breeding pathway.
Passion for work-based learning
Up-to-date, relevant, deep and broad experience of working within the equine industry that is above Senior Groom or equivalent (Level 3 +)
Hold a minimum BHS Stage 3 including Riding or Level 3 equivalents
Experience in the occupational area of the Apprenticeships including practical and current knowledge of working practices, infrastructure, tools and technologies to support applications.
Driving licence with access to own car
An understanding of 'Trailblazer' Apprenticeship Standards, with specific knowledge about the relevant industry area for the role
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience of producing clear, accurate and concise written reports
Analytical, critical thinking skills
Holding or working towards an assessor qualification (A1/A2/D32/D33/TAQA or equivalent qualification)
Level 2 Functional Skills in English, maths and ICT
Relevant teaching qualification (minimum PTTLS) or Education and Training Level 3 or 4
This position will be subject of an enhanced DBS check.
Salary range is £22,000 to £23,000,
Plus £3k Car allowance, roadside recovery and generous business mileage rate
23 days annual holiday, plus Bank and Public Holidays. Your holiday entitlement will increase by one day for each year of service (up to 30 days)
