Purple Rocket Recruitment is working with a client within the Financial Services Sector who is looking for a Finance Manager on a Permanent basis.

Reporting to the Finance Director you will be responsible for managing the Finance Operations specifically focused on providing strong leadership and management to ensure successful delivery of the financial elements of our business strategy.

You will oversee the daily transactional processing teams and ensure timely delivery of the monthly management accounts, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a robust and comprehensive set of management controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with IFRS.



  • Continuous Improvement - Demonstrated in all finance processes to create operational effectiveness and efficiency to ensure best practices are adopted and adhered to

  • Employee Engagement - Engage, motivate, inspire, empower teams and drive accountability to build a strong culture of excellence

  • Training and Competence - Ongoing management and evidence of training and competence activity across the entire Finance Operations team

  • Performance Reviews - Ensure regular performance reviews are taking place, and that any underperformance or capability issues are appropriately handled

  • Coaching and Mentoring - Provide clarification of roles as well as constructive and timely feedback in order to grow the talent within your team.

  • Management Reporting - Use meaningful management information on the performance of the Finance Operations team and identify performance targets to meet our business growth ambitions

  • Compliance - Managing the operations of the team, including aligning the accounting operations of subsidiary entities with the Company.

  • Building Relationships - Develop strong relationships across the Group.

  • Recruitment - Active involvement in recruitment within the your team, ensure job descriptions and person specifications are reflective of each role responsibilities, support individual hiring managers to ensure a fair hiring process and ensure inductions are planned in line with the induction plan.

  • Health and Safety - Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the team

  • Learning and Development - Complete and encourage the team to complete Financial Assess modules to enhance their learning on a variety of informative subjects.

  • Project Management - Ensure that all projects are proactively managed from a cost, quality and delivery perspective.


  • Build quality into every step of the finance processes to ensure accuracy and delivery are at the focus of all finance business processes
  • Actively participate and review our processes to specific regulatory requirements, in conjunction with our business support and compliance functions (e.g. GDPR, MiFID2, T&C Regime. Treating Customers Fairly, SMCR), to areas for continuous improvement to be implemented
  • Collaboratively work with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure seamless business processes which deliver the best possible business outcomes

  • Management of accounting policies, procedures and controls including implementation thereof.

  • Challenge decision making and provide innovative solutions to issues.

  • Managing of resources in line with the needs of the business.

  • Support the management accounts team in the delivery of timely and accurate consolidated monthly management accounts and variance analysis.

  • Assist and support the management accounts team in the interim and annual audit process.

  • Actively manage the finance operations team’s input into the development of new and existing accounting and CRM systems to ensure requirements are clearly communicated, documented, tested and training plans are in place ahead of release.

  • Support the Finance Director with the annual budgeting and monthly reforecast process.


  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA, 5+ years’ PQE).

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills

  • People management experience.

  • Ability to work to a high standard under pressure and adhere to strict reporting deadlines.

  • Experience of IFRS and UK GAAP.

  • Practical knowledge of good corporate governance (i.e. company secretarial and UK Corporate Governance Code).

  • Experience in discharging the regulatory requirements of a listed company (AIM rules, Listing Rules, City Code).
