Role: IT Project Manager
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience
Location: Sheffield
The role:
As a Project Manager you will oversee all aspects of a portfolio of the business: IT projects and general change projects. This will entail overall responsibility for the initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, reporting and closure of projects within the portfolio. Reporting to the other sites within the UK.
Key Accountabilities
 Deliver projects successfully, on time and budget, to the high quality standards which the business requires;
 Manage all aspects of the project- people, processes, technology and alignment to strategy;
 Manage senior stakeholders in the business to ensure that each project is proceeding towards an aligned set of objectives;
 Define and control the overall scope of each project;
 Ensure that the objectives of the project are documented and signed of;
 Generate solution options and present trade-offs for stakeholder consideration where necessary;
 Manage the project to the agreed budget or business case;
 Build and lead the project team-manage competing demands on project members’ time- influence and persuade as appropriate- recruit into the team as necessary;
 Own and manage the project plan-report on weekly targets hit or missed- understand and manage the critical path – represent the plan to senior stakeholders as necessary;
 Ensure the project is appropriately governed and that it is evidenced via deliverables (e.g. designs; PIDS etc)
 Manage risks and issues pertaining to the project- take appropriate mitigating actions and sign-off residual risk- keep a decision log for all significant project decisions;
 Ensure that all applicable regulations are met by the project;
 Manage third parties- internal and external (suppliers).
The successful candidate:
Key Skills
 Track record of delivery of change projects- both IT and generic change projects;
 Experience of migration projects- data migration; application migration and infrastructure migration;
 Educated to degree level;
 Technically able- good understanding of all aspects of technical architecture;
 Delivery focus-a bias for action and getting things done;
 MS Office expertise- use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
 Experience writing and managing project plans using MS Project;
 Able to provide clear and concise status reporting to senior management;
 Intellectual headroom to solve diverse problems and manage different kinds of projects.
