An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join a leading organisation, to support the development and implementation of the Category Strategy.

Role Responsibilities of the Procurement Category Manager;

Support the implementation and development of the various category strategies.

Build and maintain good communication channels across the procurement stakeholder group.

Optimise value delivery from suppliers to support the business.

Assemble and maintain supplier data to support the Category Leadership.

Manage key supplier relationships and define those suppliers appropriate for Supplier Relationship Management.

Measure and review supplier performance and lead supplier continuous improvement programs.

Drive competition and cost saving opportunities.

Support all requests for information for the NPD team, to ensure all required information is gathered and presented according to their requirement.

Support the development and execution of plans to assure continuous supply of quality goods and services.

Forecast supply vulnerabilities and implement plans together to ensure continuity of supply.

Ensure that suppliers meet quality requirements and applicable local Regulatory & Technical requirements.

Manage and monitor material changes for compliance to Quality and Regulatory standards.

Lead supplier related continuous improvement & corrective action efforts.

Develop and implement effective cost management programs to deliver year-on-year cost improvement.

Personal Specification of the Procurement Category Manager;

Degree Qualified or equivalent within a Business or related discipline.

CIPS qualification would be an advantage.

Significant experience of Procurement Category Management.

Experience within an FMCG environment.

Project Management and NPD experience.

Strong commercial background.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Strong analytical skills.

Flexibility to travel as required.

This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Sourcing Specialist, Commodity Manager, Supplier Manager or Category Manager.
