Production Cost Accountant
The Role: An excellent opportunity has come to market for an experienced Production Cost Accountant looking to join a market leading manufacturing company based in the scenic Scottish Borders. The key purpose of this role is to provide a management accounting service to the business, providing production management with information and analysis to improve the quality of decision making. Key Responsibilities: Production of product costing valuations to agreed time targets. Manage routine reporting to agreed time targets. Maintain and manage the costing infrastructure: Labour rates, overhead rates and methods of apportionment. Manage the cost accounting month end on SAP ensuring required control and update reports are run correctly. Control the update of standard purchase prices. Contribute to annual budget, quarterly forecasts and other business plans. Support the provision of information to group controlling function. Provide a financial appraisal for all significant Capex. Provide agreed inputs to finance team for monthly management accounts. Desired Skills & Experience: Part qualified/newly qualified accountant - CIMA/ACCA/CA Experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing environment Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Excel Experienced in the use of SAP or other ERP system Good technical knowledge and understanding of cost accounting, MRP systems.
