Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant / Accounts Payable Finance Clerk who has a good level of numeracy, data entry, organisational and administrative skills is required for a School in Oxford, Oxfordshire. SALARY: £23,000 per annum pro rata LOCATION: Oxford, Oxfordshire JOB TYPE: 9 Month , Full-Time Contract (Maternity Cover) WORKING HOURS: Hours per Week JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant / Accounts Payable Finance Clerk who has a good level of numeracy, data entry, organisational and administrative skills. Working as the Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant / Accounts Payable Finance Clerk you will join the School’s Bursary team and will work closely with the Bursary staff and the School’s Bursar to manage the entire process within Purchase Ledger including reconciliations of statements and other tasks. As the Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant / Accounts Payable Finance Clerk, y ou may be asked to monitor existing, larger contracts and assist the Bursar with negotiations with major suppliers. The School uses the PASS school administration computer system (from WCBS), which includes a full set of programmes for all financial processes, as well as for general school administration. Any previous experience with this or similar systems would be highly desirable. DUTIES Your duties and responsibilities as the Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant / Accounts Payable Finance Clerk: D eal with suppliers and weekly payment runs Manage the process of weekly expense claims Reconcile monthly company credit cards Manage the monthly prepayments and accruals Manage the termly departmental budgets IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS The ability to enter data onto a computer system rapidly and accurately A friendly and co-operative manner, in person and on the telephone A good level of numeracy, which will enable you to understand the accounts and to explain them to enquirers In addition, it would be advantageous to have either a background in accounting or be working towards an approved accountancy accreditation It would also be beneficial to have previous, relevant experience of working with suppliers within an educational environment HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
