Programmer Analyst - Application Development Role Mobility
Western Power Distribution hosts an impressive IT department where an opportunity has arisen for a Programmer Analyst to join the Information Resources (IR) Application Development Team.
The vacancy exists within a cross functional team that specialises in mobile, web and back-end development creating, maintaining & supporting a wide variety of real-time, mission critical customer service, finance and electricity distribution based systems.
The majority of these systems are developed in-house using a number of database, web and mobile based application development tools to enhance and support systems predominantly hosted on Windows & UNIX servers and ORACLE databases.Ideal candidate
* A good communicator and highly self-motivated, with the drive and ability to build and support application development projects through to a successful completion.
* Have an IT background with a keen interest in the web and mobility sector and are able to demonstrate an awareness of development best practices, architectures, trends and emerging technologies in this areas.
* Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary Programmer/Analyst aptitude, skills and experience.
* Application software development, testing, implementation and support of systems utilising the full software development lifecycle.
Objective C, Swift, Java or any other OO language
Restful web services and JSON data format
Relational database understanding and SQL experience
Experience using source control systems
Plus, you are also willing once suitably qualified, to participate in an out of hours standby working arrangement within the team. (Therefore a driving licence is preferred).
