Salary: Competitive depending on skills and experience + annual bonus and excellent benefits.

Permanent | Full Time Hours

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Electrical Engineer will build an inclusive and high performing team, across disciplines and departments as required to deliver the role.

Focusing on the electrical assets of the power plant, some of your other accountabilities will include;

-Management of works to ensure a safe working environment;

-Technical governance & guidance for your plant area;

-Delivery of compliance with legislation and industry best practice;

-Management of Projects;

-Delivery of an effective outage strategy;

-Optimising the maintenance strategy to meet with the needs of our customers / stakeholders;

-Leading root cause analysis and engineering solutions to defects;

-Driving innovation to achieve improvements in plant performance;

-Contract management of strategic suppliers and management of our Contract Strategy;

-Budget Management

Your Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone who has operated in a similar role in the electricity or comparable engineering industry. Ideally, you’ll be educated to degree level in a mechanical discipline or similar, however we will consider candidates who hold an HND qualification with extensive demonstrable experience.

Due to the size and nature of this role, your background must encompass the following;

-People leadership of proven evidence of successfully managing teams made up of engineers, technicians and contractors.

-Extensive technical expertise relating to HV and EHV

-Contract Management and negotiation

-Contract legislation

-Budget Management

-Regulation and legislation relating to health and safety of electrical systems.

Good communication skills will also be essential, and most importantly you’ll have a passion for safety and successful delivery against key stakeholder requirements.
