Work Pattern: Monday - Friday

Our client is one of the largest and most successful housing groups in the Midlands providing around 30,000 homes.

Their procurement team is responsible for managing the Group’s external expenditure with suppliers and they are seeking a Procurement Officer to assist and support the team to provide an excellent, proactive and comprehensive procurement service to employees across the Group and to help deliver benefits for the Group and the communities in which it operates. The Procurement Officer will be required to:

Support implementation of the Group’s Procurement Policy and Procedures.

Be responsible for the management and maintenance of the e-Procurement Portal and Procurement process information and support available via the Group intranet.

Have specific responsibility for the procurement of contracts for works, goods and services.

Achieve measurable cost savings and or quality/service improvements through effective tendering and procurement activities with suppliers of goods, works and services.

*

Manage and maintain key procurement information i.e. the Group Contract Register, Sourcing Plan and Benefits Register.

*

Provide advice and guidance on matters related to procurement generally and in the use of the e-Procurement systems in particular.

*

Provide communications and training on procurement procedures and system.

*

Provide support to the Senior Procurement Officer and Head of Procurement.

The Procurement Officer will be a key link in the communication chain between operational personnel, suppliers and contractors and will therefore be required to develop a close understanding of the strategies, aims and objectives of each area of the Group
