This important role will focus on creating positive press coverage that will in turn drive brand awareness and commercial success. The Senior PR Executive is responsible for all consumer public relations activity for Ocado. As such, they are the official gatekeeper of information about Ocado where consumer media is concerned, as well as being a pro-active advocate of the company - ensuring high levels of positive, great quality media coverage. You must have experience and a proven track record in the end-to-end delivery of awareness-driving and fame-enhancing campaigns. Excellent media contacts in the food and lifestyle media, as well as experience in issues management would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities include:

* Responsible for strategically developing, executing, and measuring the Ocado Retail PR strategy

* Work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the desired company image is portrayed in the media and wider public domain

* Pro-actively organise interviews, press releases and campaigns (across media and digital channels) to promote the brand, proposition and products

* Monitor and evaluate Ocado’s coverage in the press, ensuring the right messages are getting through, and that negative PR is handled effectively

* Oversee Marketing PR budget and consumer PR agencies to ensure work is carried out in alignment with the Retail and Marketing strategy building brand awareness and to drive commercial success

* Use insight to uncover interesting trends and data that can be used to fuel the Ocado story

* Work closely with the Marketing and Social media team to exploit opportunities across all relevant marcomms channels

* Oversee the press office and manage and foster media relationships with key targets, ensuring that an ‘always on’ hard working product and news hub delivers against KPIs.

* Line management of Press Officer, providing strong and inspired leadership, setting clear performance expectations, accountabilities and feedback.

Knowledge & Experience


* At least five years proven experience in consumer PR (in-house or agency)

* Proven experience of improving ROI and effectiveness of PR through solid metrics

* Capable of building and developing strong internal relationships through collaboration

* Retail or online background beneficial

* Experience working with consumer PR agencies

* Experience with regular PR agency evaluation and leading search processes and pitches as required.
