Job Summary

The Marketing Media Sales Manager role sits within the wider Grocery Marketing team and is commercially responsible for our offsite media offering to our supplier base. Our supplier relationships can be strengthened by giving them sales tools for reaching the perfect audience for selling or marketing their product. This role will sell in marketing and communication activity to Ocado’s pool of suppliers. The objective is to create relationships with both the Brand and Shopper Marketing teams to unlock investment at key suppliers. This will will be used to optimise offsite marketing media with the aim of improving engagement and sales for both the manufacturer, as well as Ocado.

The marketing media will include email campaigns, paid digital marketing, social media and print media. Success will be in securing maximum investment, utilising the correct tools and delivering growth in sales for both parties.


* Sell marketing media opportunities to Ocado’s supplier base

* Negotiate commercial terms as required

* Develop expertise in Ocado's customer and its retail proposition

* Understand available offline & online media channels in order to fit opportunities to different suppliers

* Set and achieve sales targets for various media types

* Create and maintain relationships with Ocado’s Trading team who interface with Ocado’s suppliers

* Create and maintain relationships with the Trade teams within Ocado’s suppliers

* Create and maintain relationships with the Marketing teams within Ocado’s suppliers

* Compile and analyse sales performance for reporting to Head of Marketing and Director of Retail

* Collect feedback from our supplier base

* Keep up to date with media, technology and competitor offering in this space

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

* A minimum of a 2:1 within a humanities or quantitative degree

* Experience within Marketing, ideally within the retail sector;

* Interest in digital and social channels including an understanding of good brand activity;

* Experience managing projects autonomously from beginning to conclusion at a high standard;

* Working to numerous deadlines, some of which are short deadlines;

* Capable of building and developing relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally;

* Can show creative and innovative thinking;

* Can take ownership of work and is self-managing;

* Can work across functions, including but not limited to the Trading, Insight and Creative team;

* Highly organised, flexible and proactive across diverse range of activities

* Focus on quality, accuracy and attention to detail

* Inquisitiveness about customer motivations and human behaviour

Preferred (in addition to minimum)

* Analytically minded and is able to work with data

* IT literate, including a high level of skills within Excel, Word and PowerPoint;

* Experience in sales or buying

* e-Commerce background
