Job Title: Manufacturing Buyer / Purchasing Team Leader
Location: Boston
Salary & Benefits: £35-£45K

A technologically driven innovative manufacturing business are looking to bring a strategic and dynamic supply chain professional into their existing team. Key responsibility will be to help continue to drive, develop and manage supply base, through leadership of the purchasing team.

The company are a experiencing tremendous growth and need an experienced senior buyer / purchasing team leader with a manufacturing background to help support the existing team and build a framework to support continued growth moving forwards.

There are currently 2 direct reports and the business is looking to establish a strong leadership team to put in place a framework and structure that can help stabilise continued growth over the next 5 years.

The successful candidates will have previous experience with Leadership across Purchasing, Buying and Procurement.

Key Job Accountabilities

Develop positive relationships with key vendors that deliver benefits to all parties
Manage existing supply base and identify new sources
Monitor industry trends and take actions to react accordingly
Work closely with R & D to ensure vendor base offers the products/services needed
Conduct price and contract negotiations
Establish framework agreements
Use the controlling tool to monitor trends and identify opportunities
Implement cost reduction projects
Participate in cross-functional teams and projects
Identify and implement actions in the area of risk management

Key Experience

Must have proven experience in purchasing / buying in a manufacturing sector, preferably in the area of turned and milled parts or electronics
Competent handling of ERP systems, including SAP
Good knowledge of contract law as well as supplier and project management
Excellent negotiation skills and confident manner
