We are looking to fill the position of Service Engineer.

The role is home based and the successful candidate will be responsible for installation, service and repair of lifting equipment (overhead cranes) in shipping ports and rail freight terminals throughout the UK.

We are seeking candidates who are based in Sheffield/Lincolnshire/Nottingham or Lincoln.

The Role: Reporting to the central service manager you will undertake breakdown and repair activities on overhead cranes and other mechanical lifting equipment. Most of your work will be confined to shipping ports and possible rail freight terminals located throughout the UK.

Your duties will include but is not limited to the following;

• Service, repair, installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing of overhead cranes and associated lifting equipment

• Mechanical and electrical fault find and repair •

3-phase electric motors, inverters, contactors, sensors switches and control panels

• Gearboxes, hydraulics

• Panel wiring

• Possible welding / fabrication

The role will involve extensive travel throughout the UK and will require nights away from home and some overseas travel. Candidates: You will be an experienced mechanical / electrical maintenance engineer ideally with previous experience in maintaining mechanical lifting equipment such as overhead cranes. You will have excellent 3-phase electrical fault find and repair capabilities and candidates with 17th / 18th Edition Wiring Regs certification would be beneficial.

Ideally you will be time served engineer or hold ONC or equivalent vocational qualification. Clean driving licence essential. Benefits
