The successful candidate for this Swindon based Treasury Accountant role will be joining a dynamic team within a growing Financial Services business. Description Key responsibilities will include: RECONCILIATION - overseeing timely and comprehensive reconciliations of banking services processes * Banking Reconciliations (UK & SEPA) - Undertaking daily review and approval of key reconciliations, providing guidance and driving prompt and accurate resolution. * CHAPS Return process - reconciling transnational flow and working with the Settlements Analyst (Banking) to approve the cash returns. * Recalls - managing and coordinating activity on BACS and Faster payment Recalls processes - ensuring timely actions are taken. PROCESS AND CONTROLS - continual review and process/control improvement as part of the role. * Reviewing/Approving cash transfers/cheques - of related daily bank transfers, cheques, bank recalls (BACS and Faster Payment) * Process Review / Improvements - analysing processes to identify and implement efficient process improvements to strengthen tracking and controls. * Process Documentation - Ensure all processes are documented and maintained regularly within required internal audit standards. * Controls - Continual improvement of processes and controls. To review, and strengthen controls in an efficient manner. COMMUNICATIONS WITH INTERNAL/EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS * External Queries - working as part of a team on investigation customer and bank raised queries and seeing through to successful resolution. Including escalating to bank contacts where appropriate response not received. (FROM AC being first point of contact) * Escalation owner on Banking Services - to coordinate investigations into escalations, and promptly feedback and resolve to the satisfaction of key internal/external stakeholders. (FROM AC being first point of contact) * Stakeholder management - to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. AD-HOC & PROJECTS Working with Treasury manager and others on projects and ad-hoc work as required. Possible projects could include: * Automation - to drive automation of manual processes where possible and practical. * Involvement in evaluation and implementation of reconciliation tools * Other tasks as required in the wider team Profile The successful candidate for this Swindon based Treasury Accountant role will be Qualified Accountant OR HAVE strong balance sheet reconciliation and accounting skills. Detailed knowledge and experience in banking industry would be beneficial. Ability to review processes and develop efficient improvements in control/monitoring. Time management - the ability to balance competing tasks and deliver on time to a high degree of accuracy. Strong excel skills - building, reviewing and improving complex reconciliations and models. Hands on Experience in preparing/reviewing complex reconciliations and driving actions to clear differences promptly and accurately. Ability to coordinate effort across multiple staff members to complete tasks on time and to a high standard. Job Offer Competitive salary and good career progression.
