Role description:

Currently seeking an Associate to join its entrepreneurial and dynamic team based in London. You will work within the capability group to support loan portfolio pricing, structuring, modelling, data enhancement and transaction execution. Drawing upon your highly developed Excel and data manipulation skills, you will play a key role on each transaction you are involved in and you will interact directly with investors, clients and other key stakeholders supporting and reporting to senior team members.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

Buy-side

  • Reviewing portfolio data and other information provided by the vendor to gain a deep understanding of the assets
  • Preparing business plans and identifying value accretive questions to be raised with the vendor
  • Assisting in the building and running of portfolio analysis and pricing models

Sell-side

  • Assisting clients in preparing data tapes and other value accretive information to support a transaction
  • Interacting with buyers and responding to any questions they raise
  • Assisting in the building and running of portfolio analysis, structuring and pricing models

Advisory

  • Analysis of loan and collateral portfolios, including identifying data deficiencies and gaps
  • Moving on, with experience, to providing strategic advice and recommendations

Role requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a transactional (buy-side, sell-side or advisory) or financial services modelling role
  • Strong interest in banking and financial services
  • Strong academic background
  • Understanding of financial statements, capital structures, credit and/or real estate preferable
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Experience analysing data and cashflow modelling
  • Experience of languages including Python, R, SQL or Alteryx will be valued
  • Well organised, self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to contribute your own ideas and work autonomously
  • Ability to take ownership of a workstream within a complex project and deliver it successfully whilst working under pressure and in a context of shifting priorities
  • Ability to manage a team and develop junior team members
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • English proficiency (verbal and written) is a requirement. Knowledge of other languages will be valued
  • Interested and motivated to travel throughout Europe on projects
