We’re an authorised service centre for most of the major names in broadcast and digital cinematography and we now are the official and only RED Digital Cinema engineering centre in Europe. CVP are at a key stage of our evolution, having emerged from a successful MBO we now seek an experienced and thorough Broadcast Engineer to work as an integral part of our Engineering team supporting our digital camera repairs and maintenance operations and helping us to further develop our Engineering/Pro-repairs presence and reputation. Overview of role: Provide technical support to our customers in repair, maintenance, installation and modification of technical broadcasting equipment. You may be required to travel to customer site for equipment repair, work under pressure in order to meet our contractual SLA’s with Sony, Canon, RED, ARRI etc. and our customers. Role Description: You’ll be required to spend the majority of the time maintaining and repairing digital camera systems and broadcast ; This will involve fault diagnosis, evaluation, providing estimations through to physical repair and ; Working as part of a highly skilled and experienced team you’ll be required to repair products on a daily basis to meet CVP criteria, customer expectations and maintain our industry leading quality standards and turn-around times. Examples of Duties: Diagnose a range of faults and/or damage to complex broadcast equipment Devise a plan/approach to repair/rectify faults and conduct the repair Maintain, troubleshoot and repair complex electronic, computer based, optical and mechanical broadcasting systems (in emergency, planned maintenance and preventative situations). Perform a range of warranty based and support tasks (including firmware upgrades, component replacements etc) Perform post reparative tests to verify quality standards versus specification and complete service job Set-up and operate various broadcasting equipment such as recording, video and editing equipment; checks equipment for operational readiness; provides operational assistance/instruction to others as needed. Maintain information in our in house broadcast service system keeping all service jobs updated. Test and align new equipment prior to customer delivery and sign off . Skills and Attributes required: Minimum HND (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering Knowledge of broadcast rules and regulations. Knowledge in maintenance, usage, and design of technical broadcast equipment. Skill in responding to operational/technical equipment problems. Skill in both verbal and written communication. Skill in repair of digital and computer systems. Creative and logical mind, with strong problem solving and IT skills Good soldering skills Logical and tidy approach to work Ability to be flexible working under pressure, frequently working with no direct supervision
